Itinerary
Marrakech was founded in 1062, has numerous monuments that are World Heritage Sites and is one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, along with Meknes, Fez and Rabat. It is a city of contrasts. Its bustling streets and labyrinthine souks (traditional markets), contrast with the calm of its Riads and the tranquility of its gardens. We will start our tour of Marrakech with a local guide who will take you to discover the secrets of the second oldest city in Morocco.
WE WILL VISIT:
• The Kotoubia Mosque: The minaret of this famous Mosque is the great Symbol of Marrakech. It is also the tallest building in the city, and can be seen from several points in this Capital.
• The Saadian Tombs: There are 3 mausoleums and here is buried the family of the Saadi dynasty that reigned at the end of the 16th century.
• The Bahia Palace: built at the end of the 19th century, with the intention of being the largest palace of all time, and also the spectacular Madrassa ben Yosef.
• We will also enter the Medina and walk through the labyrinthine streets that form the famous souk of Marrakech.
• The Jamaa el Fnaa Square: is the main square of the city, here you can find everything: street restaurants, cafes with chic terraces, Games/juice stalls, henna tattoo artists, snake charmers, musicians, dance and much more, The tour ends at 16:00hs. In the afternoon you will have free time.
After breakfast, we will start our journey to Ouarzazate. We will cross the wonderful mountains of the High Atlas and the Tizi N’Tichka bridge. Here we will stop for you to enjoy some spectacular views and take pictures. Then we will continue to Ait Ben Haddou, this impressive place was the scene of famous films like Gladiator or The Mummy, among others. Here you will have a guided tour with a local guide. After lunch we will continue our journey to Ouarzazate, gateway to the desert and where the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios are located, these are the most important film studios in Morocco. We will make a stop for you to take pictures. Then we will continue our journey, passing through Boulmane Dades, where we will find the Valley of the Roses. Arrival at the hotel in Gorges du Dades. Accommodation and Dinner.
After breakfast, we will continue our journey to Tenghir, we will detour to the Toudra Gorge. There we will see wonderful palm groves. Then we will stop for lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue our way to Erfoud, to reach the Merzouga camp. We will spend the night in tents next to the Erg Chebbi dunes, which are the entrance to the Sahara desert. You will be able to enjoy a beautiful starry sky. Dinner and accommodation in luxury tents.
We will wake up before sunrise to enjoy an unforgettable sunrise in the middle of the dunes. After breakfast, we will take a camel ride through the dunes. Afterwards we will continue our journey through Erfoud Errachidia, located in one of the most beautiful regions of Morocco. We will make a stop so you can take pictures of the ZIZ valley, We will continue our journey until we reach Azrou, which is located in a large cedar forest in the middle of the valley. We will continue to Fez, one of the first imperial cities and one of the first sacred cities of Muslim culture in Morocco. Overnight at the Fez hotel/Riad.
At 9:00 am, after breakfast, we will begin our guided tour of the medina, The medina of Fez was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981 and is one of the largest walled cities in the world. It was founded in the year 790 AD. We will go discovering and walking through the narrow streets full of shops with fresh fruit, a great variety of spices, Berber carpets and many other objects of Moroccan art, We will visit the Royal Palace, the tanners, the potters and also the oldest university in the world, created before Oxford and the Sorbonne, We will have lunch in the center of the medina, in a typical restaurant. After lunch we will complete the visit to the medina and return to your hotel around 4:00 pm.
Dinner can be in a local restaurant with a show. Overnight in Fez.
After breakfast in the Riad, our journey begins to Meknes one of the imperial cities of the country (founded in the 17th century) we will visit Bab Al-Mansour and the basin of Sahrij Souani the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, then we will drive to Volubilis to discover the Roman ruins and learn about the Moroccan history of BC.
Afterwards we will leave for Chefchaouen crossing the Rif mountains and a beautiful oak forest, Chefchaouen located in the only intercontinental natural park, Chauen is a beautiful city, white and blue, which is located in a mountain It offers its visitors wonderful landscapes, Here you will find local craft exhibitions and you will be able to enjoy a tranquility difficult to find in other places.
Chefchaouen is a place to visit, enjoy and get lost among its fantastic little streets surrounded by blue and white houses, which make it a unique city. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast, we will leave for Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here you will discover the walls that surround the old part of the city followed by the Kasbah of Oudaya and the impressive Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the administrative palace of the country, Then we will leave for the economic capital of the country, Casablanca.
The first stop will be to visit the famous Hassan 2 mosque, the largest mosque in Africa, the Hassan II mosque, its square green tiled minaret that reaches 200 meters high is the second largest in the Islamic world, after Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It was designed by the French architect, Michel Pinseau, the same one who designed the Moroccan pavilion at the Seville Universal Exposition.
